The two men stood in the Klingon recovery bay. Ko'Vor was still unsure what parts of Kirks story he could buy. after all people don't just "forget" an hour of there day, especially when no medical evidence could back up his story. Except for an unusually large amount of radiation the computers couldn't Analise.
Ko'Vor was still not going to let star fleet take kirk back though, the Gorn would surely find a way to kill him.
"Well i will trust you admiral, you are my friend and as such deserve my trust and protection."
Ko'Vor thought for a moment.... trying to work out the situation still. trying to change the subject he asked about his health.
"how is your side? i didn't actually order them to stab you, only intimidate you. i apologize for that."
<tag Kirk>
"yes sir. anyhow, what of the situation, we cant hide you on here forever, I'm already getting orders to bring you out....not ones i am going to follow of course, but never the less its not Honorable hiding. under these circumstances though we are hiding because the other choice is death. so i want to find out what happened first. any suggestions?

Ko'Vor stood listening to his thoughts, unsure how he could make them work but determined to find a way.

Fish explained everything she knew and guessed to Daya. He seemed like a nice person, and was definitely on her side, so she trusted him. But he still couldn't do anything besides making sure Hayes wasn't going anywhere.
Daya returned almost instantly, following a security officer and a nurse who were carrying a body. The security officer had found the dead man in a restricted corridor. Daya was asking questions, and neither of the officers had any answers.
To add to their dilema, the CMO announced that Church had gone into a coma. He'd lost a lot of blood, but the CMO suspected that someone had poisoned the Marine, since there was no logical reason for a coma to occur. At least they would be able to affix an artificial hand onto Church while he was out of it.
Steiner started yelling again. He'd been doing this for a long time now, but he had always been incoherant. "Pills! I... NEEED... PILLLS!"
Startled, a nurse turned to him. "Where are they?"
Steiner gasped, sweat dripping from his head. "...quarters..." he mumbled. "...closet....quarters... mff..." he trailed off.
The nurse hurried off, as did Daya, presumably done trying to investigate the latest murder, leaving Fish to wonder what all that was about.

"Goddamit" Daya said as he slammed his hand against the doorway to the restricted corrider the dead crewmen had been found. Daya looked around, not even a sign of a struggle, whoever was doing this, was either very lucky, or very good.
"Beat team to my position" Daya said as he tappe dhis comm badge, when the team arrived, he looked at them. " I want this corrider turned upside down, find anything and everything. Then look some more, we are gonna find this bastard, shot to kill if you find him"
=^= Daya to Captain Smith=^=
=^= Smith here, what is it Commander=^=
=^= we got a nother murder on our hands, i've got men searching the corrider, but nothing has tured up just yet=^=
"Sir, over here" Daya turned to see one of his men holding a small peice of equipment. "What is it?" They asked as Daya looked at it. "A peice of a marine AI suit"
~~~~~
The doors to sickbay could only open slow enough to stop Daya from tackling LT. Fish to the ground. "Call everyone of your marines up here NOW!!!!" He yelled as soon as he saw her. Walking up to her he stared at her sternly. "What do mean sir?"
"What the hell is this?" He asked as he roughly shoved the peice of shin guard into her hands. "My men found this in the corrider where that man was just killed" he said as he pointed to the covered body of the crewmen.
"No......" She said as she looked at the broken peice or armor. ""It cant be" she said as Daya stared at her.
OFF, i'll let you handle the rest of that Church
It had been some time since the assassination of the Gorn Ambassador. GorHak had been officially named the new Ambassador of the Gorn Empire, his flagship stood at Red Alert just off DSB.
Sitting in the Admiral's office GorHak considered firing on the station if him and his crew were not released at once, he had done nothing more than defend himself and his leader during the attack. The Federation saw it other wise.
As GorHak sat in Kirk's plush chair the doors opened revealing one Federation security office and a single Gorn officer. With out saying any words the Starfleet security officer stepped outside the door letting the two Gorn have some privacy.
Stepping forward the Gorn officer spoke only a few words, "It has been done."
"Good. Where is it now?" GorHak replied.
"He was beamed onto a cloaked Klingon battleship, we have no way of getting to him yet."
"He is a Starfleet officer, he will eventually turn himself in. It is only a matter of time now." GorHak said letting his large teeth show.
"What are your orders now?"
"We wait." GorHak replied letting his teeth show more.
"I know this probably isn't Church, since he's accounted for, but I've heard Marines don't lend out armour to everyone who asks for it," said Daya.
"Only one person besides Church uses that kind of armour," said Fish quietly. "But he might have been framed."
"I don't care," said Daya. "He needs to be detained. Now where is he?"
"I don't know. He's been missing since the battle with the Gorn. "The armour belongs to Lt. Caboose. I don't know how it would get knocked off, though..."
"I'll have security keep an eye out for him," said Daya, leaving.
"how is your side? i didn't actually order them to stab you, only intimidate you. i apologize for that."
"I've been hurt worst." Kirk said looking over the wound.
"yes sir. anyhow, what of the situation, we cant hide you on here forever, I'm already getting orders to bring you out....not ones i am going to follow of course, but never the less its not Honorable hiding. under these circumstances though we are hiding because the other choice is death. so i want to find out what happened first. any suggestions?
"I don't feel much like giving myself up for a crime I never committed, but I don't see any other choice..." Kirk said letting his words drift off.
Ko'Vor stood listening to his thoughts, unsure how he could make them work but determined to find a way.
"General, we need to get our hands on the Base's security images and cross reference those with the images from my office. I can't very well lead the investigation on my own, so I am going to need you to look into this matter." Kirk said running his hand through his hair, "I don't think I have any other choice but to turn myself in."
"Admeral.... i do not think it is a good idea to leave me ship... not for now.... we don't know if the Gorn will take an opportunity to go after you."
"General, hail DSB and inform them that I will beam over with in the hour."
Ko'Vor starred at him for a moment, trying to assess if he could understand his motives... going back is not a good idea, Even Kirk must know this, he isn't that stupid.
Ko'Vor didn't answer and instead walked away. leaving the room he stopped and turned back wanting to go back in and persuade Kirk to stay. "Computer...." Ko'Vor tutted at himself. he could be about to add another caution to his record. "computer erect a level 1 forcefield around the medical bay. my voice command only." Ko'vor then walked toward the bridge.
"Ensign, move the ship to a new position, further from the station, no doubt if we stay here much longer the Gorn will eventually find us... Move once every hour from now to a different position, avoid detection and remain cloaked."
"yes General"
then the com officer took the generals attention. "sir our guest is a little annoyed he is locked in. he is sending quite a few text messages demanding to be let out!"
"Well he will remain there for at least the rest of today, I'm meanwhile going to do as he suggested and scrape around for evidence."
Hours had passed since the assassination of the Gorn Ambassador, Admiral Kirk was no where to be found leaving only guilty thoughts in the minds of the crew members of DSB.
"It seems the Klingon's are also involved in this little conspiracy!" GorHak shouted, "My ship detected two people beamed from your Defiant class star ship onto a cloaked Klingon warship only hours ago. It seems your Admiral is hiding out on board that Klingon ship."
"You can't be sure of that." Commander Smith fired back, "Besides we still need to look at the evidence first."
"Our sensors are far superior to your Federation versions, besides I was a witness. You need no other evidence." GorHak said hissing.
"That is not the way things work here, everybody is innocent until proven guilty." Smith replied standing his ground.
"A flaw in your justice system Commander."
With out saying any more Commander Smith turned and walked out of Admiral Kirk's office and headed toward his own. It seemed only natural that GorHak wanted Kirk brought to justice for the 'crimes' he had committed, but there was an arrogant swagger about GorHak that didn't seem to sit well with Commander Smith.
"Commander Smith to Lieutenant McLean."
"McLean here sir."
"Chief, I need you to take a look at the security images and transporter logs. Cross reference those logs with Admiral Kirk's bio signs and their exact locations during the entire event."
"I will get right on it sir." McLean replied closing the channel.
"Smith to Commander Daya and Captain Church."
"Go ahead."
"Daya I want you to place Ambassador GorHak under arrest for the murder of Sergent Andrews. Witness statements said he was fired upon with out warning. Understood? Captain Church I need you to set up Marines all around the station, because of the Admiral's disappearance we need to put this station under lock down until we find him. Coordinate your search with the security officers, understood?"
McLean had received his orders. Although he felt like a broken man he still had duties to perform and in his opinion an Admiral to save. He just knew deep down inside that Kirk was not capable of killing the Gorn Ambassador, it was just too out of character for him.
Walking into the main transporter room McLean began to access the information Commander Smith had requested. It didn't take long for the results to come back to McLean. At a glance McLean noticed the information was consistent with the reports that had already been filed about the matter. It wasn't until McLean looked closer at the actual transporter times that things began to looks suspicious.
"What the..." McLean said out loud.
Scrolling down the list McLean found more odd logs with the transporter system, random maintenance had been done to the pattern enhances, and targeting scanners. The bio-filters had been deactivated also.
"That would have made it easier for somebody to fire a weapon while in transport." McLean said talking to himself.
Looking at the logs again McLean found inconsistent time differences and multiple transporters happening at the same exact time. It took awhile but McLean was able to trace the original spot of transport to the lower levels of the station, not Kirk's office. The transport that took place in Kirk's office didn't have an actual destination on board the station, it just looked like it did.
"McLean to Commander Smith."
"Go ahead Chief."
"I found something very odd down here sir in the logs." McLean said as he began to fill in Commander Smith of the situation.
meanwhile on board the U'Hitar Ko'Vor’s team were also making progress.
Ko'Vor was being briefed. "And the Gorn were coming over on a shuttle so would have had no reason to use there transporters. Yet a cleverly masked signature was activated .031 seconds before Kirk Disappeared, then 2.34 seconds later another transport. i also have found a stronger trace showing that there was another transport about 15 minutes later. I cant find where the transports took place but they all originated from the Gorn vestal."
Ko'Vor looked pleased, they were making progress. "The first evidence we actually have. We should inform Kirk. Secure the bridge and beam him up here. Tell him the same report you just told me."
Moments later a very angry Kirk materialised and instantly started ranting about his situation.
"KIRK!!" Ko'Vor shouted, shutting up the admiral instantly. "We have found something you may want to take a look at.... Obs, put up the data on the screen".
ON the screen appeared a series of green points showing transporters signals from the Gorn vestal. There were also red spots showing ones from DSB.
"What you are seeing sir is..." an officer began. "there is no need to tell me what those are... i already understand." said Kirk fuming at the information coming up in text on the screen.
"I think we have an advantage now sir, do you wish to stay here and allow us to continue our jobs or will you leave? i wont stop you this time."
"sir, Captain Church is incapacitated at the moment, but i will have his second in command realy those orders"
Daya looked at Fish, who nodded her head and they both left sickbay.
Moments later Daya arrived at the Admiral's office, were he found the ambassador, "Please come with me, " he said as he pointed a phaser at him. "Wha... whats going on, i demand to know whats happening."
"Very well, your under arrest for the murder of Sergent Andrews. We have witnesses saying you fired without warning."
"That ridiculous, i demand to see Smith"
"Fine, you can see him, after your in the brig, now then lets go"
Daya stepped behind him and tied his hands together, loosly, but still tied enough so he could use them. "Move"
A few minutes later they arrived at the brig, Daya opened one of the cells and gently pushed the ambassador inside. "Now, dont go anywhere"
"Weta," said Fish on her way out, "You're in charge. Dvinski, stay here to keep an eye on everyone if Weta needs to leave."
The two nodded, and Fish was gone.
Moments later, a nurse came into the room, talking earnestly with the CMO. Neither Weta nor Dvinski had any idea what they were talking about.
"We should give him one, I suppose," said the CMO, taking a small package over to Steiner. Weta followed the medical officers soundlessly.
At first, Steiner didn't show any change when he saw the pills. But then his eyes grew wide and he grabbed two, his arm shooting out to get them. He swallowed, blinked, looked around, and then frowned.
"What am I doing here?" he asked. "What happened?"
"What is the last thing you remember?" Weta had pushed the medical staff out of the way, despite their protests.
Steiner shook his head. "We were in a training exercise, and I felt a need to... well, I can't remember, but I was supposed to do something important, and then everything just faded out."
"You tried to kill Lt. Williams," said Weta. "Why?"
Steiner opened his mouth to argue, then stopped. That phrase sounded so familiar. Steiner furrowed his brows, deep in thought. Slowly he was able to recal a few words from a conversation he'd had with someone he didn't know....
"Excuse me," said the CMO impatiently. "IF you don't mind, Mr. Marine, we have a problem with a murder security's investigating. Mr. Steiner, do you know this man?" Picket's face was displayed on a PADD.
Steiner's eyes grew wide. "That's him," he whispered. "He told to kill Lt. Will-" Steiner began coughing.
"He'd going into cardiac arrest!" announced a nurse, startled. "Unusually high levels of acetylcholine as well."
Steiner's muscles were contracting and relaxing rapidly and several medications began to take their toll. He coughed violently, his chest heaved violently several times, and then he was still. Weta, who had stood calmly through the ordeal, took the PADD with Picket's picture on it. It needed analysis. This officer was not the engineer he was supposed to be, just recently transferred to Starbase Beta. Weta would find out who he was. He'd killed Steiner, almost killed Fish, and Weta wouldn't be surprised if Hayes knew him. They would soon find out.
*********************************************
"Sir," Fish said to Daya after he apprehended the Gorn, "I've just recieved word that Steiner is dead. Weta- that is, the acting XO of the Marines - believes the dead man you found is responsible. He somehow tricked or controlled Steiner and tried to have him kill me. The AXO is looking for any connection between the attack on Church, specifically Hayes, and Picket, the man you found."
"Good," said Daya. "You need to go put your team on alert, don't you?"
"Yes," replied Fish. "Good luck here."
"Thank you. Good luck to you, too."
Fish contacted Yanaguchi, telling her to get everyone ready. The Marines began to sweep the station, getting civilians into their quarters and making sure all officers were on alert. Security officers were doing the same thing. Some civilians refused to go back to their homes. Most were rough-looking, and almost all were located at the bar run by a Ferengi. Fish shook her head. It was obvious that Ferengi was not a very good person to have on a Starbase. He'd probably be trying to make all sorts of illegal deals with everyone that came through his bar. Fish made a mental note to check in on him later and make sure he wasn't doing anything too outrageous.
"Sir, security has done everything they can to get people where they belong. Everyone is either in their homes or here," said Yanaguchi, waving her arm at the bar, a couple other venders who still had their shops open, and their occupants.
"We'll stay here," said Fish. "Security will be patrolling the station, making sure no one is running around unaccounted for." Like Caboose... where could he be?
*********************************************
The cloaked figure who had killed Picket had gone through all his belongings before Starfleet had gotten there and replaced them exactly as they had been. Picket had several AI chips built for heavy, specialised Marine suits of body armour. One Marine, named Caboose, was acting oddly, and it was probably that man who had an AI chip in him.
Acting quickly, the cloaked figure found Caboose and rendered him unconcious. He took his armour, took out the AI chip, and after stuffing Caboose and the AI chip in an unused room, he put on the armour. Now he would be able to get to Sickbay and finish the job he'd been hired to do.
"I think we have an advantage now sir, do you wish to stay here and allow us to continue our jobs or will you leave? i wont stop you this time."
"General I want you to continue your investigation but I must return to DSB and present this information to Commander Smith and the Gorn Ambassador." Kirk said.
"You know they will just dismiss this information as fraudulent." Ko'Vor said.
"The though did cross my mind, but it has to be done." Kirk finished.
"If it is your will to die." Ko'Vor replied sounding like the typical Klingon warrior.
"It is my will to prove that I am innocent." Kirk said before leaving for the transporter room.
The walk was brief and quiet as Kirk and Ko'Vor seemed to not have much to say to each other. Kirk knew that Ko'Vor did not favor his idea to beam back over, but Kirk had the feeling it was the right thing to do. Even a Klingon had to agree that it was cowardice to hide away on board a cloaked Klingon battleship.
"Two to beam over to Admiral Kirk's office." Ko'Vor barked to his transporter operator.
With in seconds Ko'Vor and Kirk were surrounded by the red glow of the Klingon's transporter system. As they rematerialized Kirk noticed things had been moved around in his office during their absence.
"Who was in here?" Kirk asked knowing Ko'Vor didn't have the answer.
Kirk thumbed around for a minute trying to find a sign of evidence that would tell him who might had been rooting around in his office, but Kirk couldn't find anything. Breathing heavily Kirk stepped out of his office onto the Command Deck, impudently he was approached by a Security team.
"Sir, I must place you under arrest for the assassination of the Gorn Ambassador. You are to be extradited to the Gorn sector of space where your trial will be held." A young Security officer said.
"In a moment, we have found evidence of my innocence." Kirk replied.
"Until the evidence can be send to Starfleet Command I'm afraid you must come with me."
Just as Kirk was about to open his mouth to say something sensors all around the Command Deck began to beep.
"Sir, three ships decloaking off the civilian sector of the station."
"On screen." Kirk said pushing his way past the Security officer.
The young officer attempted to grab for Kirk but was quickly push aside by General Ko'Vor; not wanting a confrontation with a Klingon the security officer stepped remained toward the back of the Command Deck near the turbo lifts.
The view screen blinked showing a section of the civilian side of the station as the three ships began to come into the visible range. Every member of the Command Deck's jaw dropped as the cloaked ships finally revealed themselves.
"Sir we are being hailed."
"Open a channel." Kirk replied.
"Admiral, I am surprised to see you still in command of this battle station."
Kirk looked at Ko'Vor then turned back to face the view screen, "I have to be honest with you, I am surprised to see the Dominion in the Beta Quadrant."
"We are here to help our Gorn allies bring you in for your crime. Please surrender or else we will be forced to attack." The Vorta officer said.
Just as he finished speaking several Breen battleships cloaked near the already battle damaged Darkhawk and docked Seven Dispensations.
"You have only a matter of minutes to stand down." The Vorta said closing the channel.
"Looks like we have a big problem on our hands." Kirk said looking at the several ships now surrounding DSB.
Ko'Vor walked swiftly to the transporters room with Kirk. once on board DSB there was already a sign something wasn’t right. Kirks office was different. A young officer burst in trying to arrest the admiral. Ko'Vor watched as the two resisted each other. Stepping in he decided to quickly finish the current argument. But a new problem, as it seemed to on board this station, arose seconds later.
"Metta to Ko..." "Metta i know.... Quickly Decloak and ready weapons"
Ko'Vor wanting to display a show of strength knew the Breen were no match for his ship, and the Vorta should be wary of it too... but the Gorn, they were a different problem, it had been hard collecting data on there vestals through conventional means so they didn’t know the capability.
Metta spoke again "ko to pla?" she asked. "eien" Ko'Vor uttered and with that the communication was shut. but Ko'Vor did know that at least he didn’t need to worry so much now.
Ko'Vor just looked at the console showing the ships positions. Communications were cut between kirk and the aliens, then quickly turning to kirk he looked for words he couldn’t find.
"what was that you said to Metta?" kirk asked. "It is of no matter at this time." Ko'Vor answered. "WHY didn’t the sensors find these ships earlier?" it was a rhetorical question. he didn’t expect an answer. "Also, the main question... what do we do now?"
"I swear, I don't have anything to do with Steiner," said Hayes.
He did not seem to be lying, and Weta had studied small signs most species gave away while not telling the truth. The man was innocent, at least in the particular case. Weta was about to turn around when several of his hairs raised. Without thinking he dove into a corner, a tranquilizer dart flying past him and striking Hayes. The man went limp almost instantly, and Weta turned around to find his attacker. Caboose stood in the doorway, firing into the hall. Whoever had shot at Weta was now busy firing at Caboose. Taking advantage of that, Weta scurried off to the other door Sickbay possessed, planning to take the attacker by surprise. Caboose stopped firing, and Weta, wondering why, turned to look. He saw another tranquilizer coming right at him. Too late, he remembered Caboose had been missing. The dart almost missed him, but even Weta was not fast enough to get away from it. As he fell into darkness, he wondered where Dvinski had been, and realised Caboose must have taken him out quietly...
*********************************************
Whoever was wearing Caboose's armour turned to the single concious nurse and asked, "Where is Captain Church?"
The nurse, trembling, pointed to the man. She was shot in the neck, and quickly succumbed to the sedative. The man walked over to Church and took out a knife. Church was not wearing any body armour, so this kill would be easy.
"Freeze!" yelled a voice in the doorway. The cloacked figure inside Caboose's armour turned and, underneath the helmet, smiled. A small group of security officer were standing in the doorway he had entered earlier. He held his hands up as if surrendering, one hand touching the other as he raised them. A small detpack went off, and the security team was for the most part vaporized in the explosion. Several unconcious people lying next to the bast radius were slightly burned.
The knife came toward Church again, and this time there was no one to stop him. But as the figure brought the knife down on Church's sternum, the body armour got in the way ever so slightly, knocking his aim off about an inch. The knife cracked on a rib, but continued through Church's chest. Blood began to run freely, and the figure cursed. The body armour was no longer usefull. He quickly got out of it and took out a phaser. Church was supposed to appear to have been killed by that engineer, McLean, and fingerprints on a knife were best. McLean, not being a professional killer, would not know Church might survive a knife to the chest. The cloaked figure hesitated. Church would probably die, but if he didn't... well, there would be another time, and it would seem as if McLean were responsible. Starfleet would worry about this for a long time. The figure left swiftly. Within moments, another security team had arrived, only to find everyone dead or unconcious, and a suit of body armour on the ground.
*********************************************
Word had been spread of the possible battle. The Marines waited in a shuttle bay near an armoured transport shuttle. With it they would board a Breen ship, should a battle commence.
"I hate the Breen," muttered Fish for the second time.
Yanaguchi smiled. "Don't we all."
A small cough came from behind Fish. Startled, she turned around to see a very distraught Weta, Before she could ask what he was doing out of Sickbay, he answered.
"Someone is trying to kill Church," he said, his voice shaking. "Somebody much more dangerous than Hayes. He knocked me out, and took Caboose's armour. I don't know if I could beat him in a fair fight, but I'd rather have our whole team on my side. He stabbed Church with a knife. It had McLean's fingerprints on it, but that wasn't McLean in Caboose's armour. He was too fast to be that engineer." Weta sighed, obviously upset he had been beaten. "I had security set up a guard around and inside Sickbay. The medical staff is working exclusively on Church, but if all doesn't go well they will have many, many people to be working on soon. He might be sacrificed if his chances for survival are not good."
Fish scowled. "He better not be, or that doctor's going to-"
"I already told her," Weta said. The was a pause, and then the topic changed. "Dvinski's coming with us once he picks up his explosives. The only person unaccounted for is Caboose, and he's probably dead."
Fish nodded, now very angry, And since whoever responsible for Caboose and Church's deaths or near-deaths was not here, she'd take it out on the Breen.
