"we no doubt have a lot to discuss before the arrival of the gorn. i for once would like to talk about how you would like me to act in these times... as always though the U'Hitar is yours if you need her HAHAHA"
Kirk never got tired of Klingons, they were always ready for a fight no matter what the outcome. Kirk could not help himself but let out a good laugh along with the Klingon first officer, looking over at Smith Kirk noticed he was amused but not as much as Kirk.
"Gentlemen, please." Kirk motioned to his office.
Stepping inside his office once again Kirk had the strangest feeling he had just been there, turning around he noticed both Ko'Vor and Lorian were being overly casual.
"You know, Lorian I have been catching up on my early 21st century college football games. I thought I would let you know I watched the 2005 Rose Bowl game, USC vs Texas, very interesting game."

Kirk listened to Lorian and watched as General Ko'Vor stood looking impatient. Once Lorian was finished speaking Kirk quickly turned to Ko'Vor to address him on a few matters.
"General, I want you to look over our defensive grid, I know this is a diplomatic but we should lean on the side of caution right now." Kirk said.
"I have already done so." Ko'Vor replied.
"Good, what are your suggestions for how we should handle this matter?"

McLean finished his drink before looking around the bar, he had hoped he would find somebody he could talk to, let out his sorrows and frustrations but his eyes only fell on one man, Marine Captain Church.
"YOU!" McLean pointed and shouted in Church's direction, "We have something to settle between us." McLean said stumbling.
All eyes in the bar were now in Church and Daya who had been sitting quietly in a seculded booth across the bar.

"Good, what are your suggestions for how we should handle this matter?"
" firstly i understand the situation, this could be a good advancement for our cultures. A good negotiation meeting with the Gorn could end up with one less empire to be careful of in this place. I understand this is a diplomatic mission, i am eager to take part also in the negotiations.... but there are things we need to know about."
Ko'Vor felt he was repeating his brief from before the metron incident.... this brief was ignored and all his advice about building up weapons and defenses were dissmissed... hopefully this time though they would listen to his advice as he actually has been proven right.
"well one of your officers has told me its isn't normal to keep weapons and defenses on stand bye. this, firstly, is foolish. If everything is powered up on standby we will have a much quicker response time. It is the sensible course of action and one I'm sure the Gorn will not take offense too, knowing the situation."
<tag Kirk>
Next i think we should have the darkhawk as ready as possible, have a few star fleet ships notified and on call and also my ships should be ready for another assult....Kahless knows we have had enough experience already defending this station, HAHAHA."
Ko'Vor waited for a while. he didn't want to overwhelm kirk with too much information, he didn't want to make it seem the station was ill equip for battle. but the truth was, it could have a lot more weapons for the power it had. it was making poor use of the weapons it did have and all together was not ready for the tasks laid down for it. But he wanted to five enough information so carried on.
"Also the smaller docked ships, shuttles, runabouts, etc. should be ready for battle. I'm sure that we wont need this much for one Gorn Vessel but we don't know there modern power and we don't know if they can mask other ships from us somehow. So its better to be prepared. anything else you wish me to tell you Sir?"

Church had been through a lot that day, and wasn't in the best of moods. But Fish had already gotten mad about his encounter with Rorgel, and Church didn't really want any trouble with McClean. He thought they had at least reached a state of neutrality, but apparently not.
Church opened his mouth to speak, and Daya shot him a dangerous look. "We do?" he asked.
"Yes... you destroyed my engine room," he muttered, a little drunk, but not too much. "And-"
"Sir," said an officer near him," I think you need to-"
McLean hit him and the man crashed into a nearby table. The chief engineer turned towards Church with a twisted grin on his face. "COME ON!" he shouted. Everyone was moving to the walls and several were puching tables to the side in preparation for the fight that seemed soon to commence.
"Back away from him," ordered Daya. "He's drunk, and has had a lot to deal with. Do not get in a fight with him."
"I can hear you!" shouted McLean. His voice dropped to a mumble again and the grin disappeared from his face. "I can hear you..."
"Look, he's not about to get out of the way, and there's only one exit to this place," pointed out Church. "I'll just knock him on his back and walk away."
Daya started to protest, but Church ignored him. "All right, McLean, come-"
The man moved with the speed of an Olympic runner. Amazing, considering he'd just been drinking alcohol. He also reached Church, his arm swinging towards the Marine's face, before Church rolled out of the way and came up in a fighting stance. McLean stopped himself by grabbing a table, which toppled. The engineer managed to keep his balance, though, and picked up a chair.
"No!" shouted the Ferengi. "You people are Starfleet! Don't go wrecking my chairs, you idiots! You're supposed to protect them! I'll-"
Daya went over to comfort the barkeeper as McLean threw the chair. Church sidestepped and the chair missed him by half a foot. Howling with rage, McLean dived at Church. The Marine couldn't get out of the way this time. He was in a corner, and the people watching the fight were closing into a box. The crowd didn't want to leave without watching the two officer pound each other into the ground. Church kicked McLean in the chest as he was tackled.
A couple other officer moved to break up the fight, but civilians grabbed them and didn't let them intervene. Daya, having calmed the Ferengi, took out his phaser and forced his way to where McLean was repeatedly punching Church. Church had been able to block all the punches so far, but McLean wasn't thinking straight at all. He took no heed for his own saftey, having srcaped his hand across some glass from a broken bottle earlier on.
Daya shouted something, but over McLean's cursing of Church, neither could hear him. Church let the next blow hit him - right in the face, which hurt a lot - and then he punched McLean in his face and in his chest. As McLean gasped in pain, Church shoved him off and got to his feet. McLean lowered his head and charged, knocking Church down again. As they fell Church grabbed McLean and kicked him in the shins, one time in each leg. Church then got back up, MCLean still on the ground holding his bruised shins. It hadn't bee na very nice thing to do, but Church wasn't intent on getting kicked out of Starfleet or being in a fight any longer. His round with Rorgel had taken a lot of energy.
Daya pushed Church out of the way and grabbed McLean by the shoulder. A couple of medical officers were there, and one of them knocked out McLean with that little metal stick - a hypospray? Church couldn't remember - full of who knew what type of drug. The crowed cheered, more drinks were bought, and the Ferengi seemed to forget about his chair, which had only suffered many scratches being such a sturdy subject (it had actually been thrown several times before, and been repaired a number of times, too).
"Captain Church," said Daya, looking unhappy, "you are relieved of duty until I get this sorted out. Lt .Williams is now in charge of the Marines on the Darkhawk. Go find her and tell her that, and then meet me in Medical. I'll be waiting for you with Commander Smith or Admiral Kirk if either or both are avaliable. Church nodded and left, drinking the last of his ale as he left.
*********************************************
"Well, at least you didn't beat him to a bloody pulp," said Fish irratibly. "I'm gone for twenty minutes and you get in a fight. What a wonderful example to your people, Cap."
"I didn't want a fight," said Church. "You know that. Look, he's fine, there's nothing else I could have done-"
"Daya could have stunned him, and you didn't need to save your precious ego from shame by not answering an invitation to a fight," snapped Fish. She sighed. "I know you meant well, Cap, but there was probably another way to get through that mess. I will do my best to help you avoid a demotion - or worse - but this is exactly what Hayes will be looking for. If its possible, he'll pull some strings or hand out some bribes to make sure you don't escape from this without a mark on your record."
"I know." There was a pause as both contemplated the current situation. Church spoke up again. "Well, I had better get to Medical. Daya is expecting me."
"I'll come, too," said Fish. Before Church could object, she smiled. "And there's nothing you can do about it, seeing as how I'm the Senior Marine Officer now."

"You bring up very good points General. Although the Darkhawk is still many weeks away from being operational again, I do want as many ships to be on a defensive patrol around the station. Please see to it that we are tactically ready at a moments notice. I would not like to have a repeat of the Metron attack."
Kirk exhaled a bit loud, this caught the attention of both Ko'Vor and Commander Smith.
"Something wrong sir?" Smith asked.
"No, not really. I just never knew how hard it was to run a space station as large as this one." Kirk replied.
Smith chucked a bit then replied, "So I take it you want to command a starship again?"
"The thought had crossed my mind." Kirk replied with a smile.
Sir, we have just received a report from the civilian sector of the station that a fight has broken out between two starfleet officers.
"McLean and Church." Smith said looking almost shocked. He had hoped his talk with the two officers had diffused the situation, it seemed it had not.
"Tell security that we are on our way." Kirk replied.
***********************************************
"What happened?" Kirk asked as he walked through the doors into sickbay.
Looking around the room quickly Kirk noticed McLean was lying on a bio bed unconscious and Church was sitting across the room with Commander Daya nearby.
Church quickly explained the situation from his perspective with Daya backing up and adding parts to the story. It seemed to Kirk that he underestimated McLean's reaction to his wife's death.
"Nurse, I don't want you giving Commander McLean any pain medication, or any anti-intoxication sprays." Kirk ordered.
"Sir?" The nurse said with a look of confusion on his face.
"Daya, I want you and another security officer to lock McLean in the brig until he wakes up. I want to be notified the second he cames back around."
"Yes sir."
"Captain Church, take the rest of the day off and report to my office first thing tomorrow." Kirk said.
<Tag Church>
Kirk then quickly turned and walked away quickly trying not to let his anger with the situation show. Every senior officer on board DSB knew the Gorn were coming and every office knew they were supposed to be on their best behavior until the departure of the Gorn and in the midst of all that a fight breaks out.
Commander Smith had remained silent during the entire situation in sickbay but he finally spoke up after they had left.
"Sir, what are we going to do about those two?" Smith asked.
"I don't know yet, but we have bigger things to worry about/ Lets get back to the Command Deck and finish up with the preparations for the Gorn arrival.

"Captain Church, take the rest of the day off and report to my office first thing tomorrow." Kirk said.
I wish we could just talk about this now. "Aye, sir. The Marines have training at 0800 hours. Do I need to miss that, or would you be able to fit me in at an earlier time?"
"I'll be at my office at 7. Come then."
"Yes, sir." Church left, headed for the Darkhawk. He hoped his quarters were not being repaired. They had not suffered very much damage...
To Church's relief, his quarters were empty. Probabl not even on the waiting list of things to be repaired. In fact, the whole deck was empty of repair teams, with the exception of a few officers working on some EPS conduits. Church threw himself on the bed and fell asleep very quickly. The only good thing he could think of was that tomorrow couldn't possibly be worse than today had been. And then he remembered that Gorn Ambassador or whatever was coming. Church had no idea what a Gorn was like, but he hoped it wasn't one of those species that thought it was God's gift to the universe, and everyone should roll out a red carpet when they heard them coming. Civilians could be so troublesome...
*********************************************
Church arrived at 0700 right outside Admiral Kirk's office. He'd barely made it. A voice from insdie said 'Come,' and the doors opened. Admiral Kirk was seated at his desk.
"Sit down, Captain Church," said the Admiral formally. "I've been able to talk with Mr. McLean.-" Church noted the engineer was also seated there (OFF: Don't know if Smith wants to be here too or not) "- and now I'd like to talk to you." (Tag: Kirk, McLean)

"And the same goes to you my friend, tell me, how are the repairs to your little ship coming along? i haven't had a chance to check up much recently. i apologize for not contacting you sooner."
"My little ship as you call it is getting repaired as we speak, hopefully she will be ready to return to active duty in two months," Lorian said that this was not the case. He hoped that the engineers would find a way to fix the ship in half that time.
"You know, Lorian I have been catching up on my early 21st century college football games. I thought I would let you know I watched the 2005 Rose Bowl game, USC vs Texas, very interesting game."
A smile slipped out of Lorian's face, he of course knew what FA Kirk was talking about. Considered the best championship game of its time, it brought the city of Austin, Lorian's hometown into national spotlight.
"Last second heroics," Lorian said as he remembered the last minute of the game. "Yes, last minute heroics by their quarterback."
Lorian and Kirk quickly realized that they were being very rude towards General Ko'Vor, being a Klingon he wouldn't of heard about college football. The talk quickly turned into a meeting of the tactical minds.
Lorian agreed that they needed to be prepared for the worst case scenario, but hopefully this would just be a case over being overly cautious.
"You bring up very good points General. Although the Darkhawk is still many weeks away from being operational again, I do want as many ships to be on a defensive patrol around the station. Please see to it that we are tactically ready at a moments notice. I would not like to have a repeat of the Metron attack."
Kirk exhaled a bit loud, this caught the attention of both Ko'Vor and Lorian.
"Something wrong sir?" Lorian asked. He knew that he had been stressing over the past few days, and unfortunately Lorian hadn't been there to help his friend. He needed to tend to his needs at that moment.
"No, not really. I just never knew how hard it was to run a space station as large as this one." Kirk replied.
Lorian chucked a bit then replied, "So I take it you want to command a starship again?" Lorian knew that Kirk's first love was commanding a starship. It was what he was born to do, but right now they needed him here and no where else.
"The thought had crossed my mind." Kirk replied with a smile.
Sir, we have just received a report from the civilian sector of the station that a fight has broken out between two starfleet officers.
"McLean and Church." Lorian said looking almost shocked. He had hoped his talk with the two officers had diffused the situation, it seemed it had not.
"Security we are on our way," Lorian said as he was the first person out of command.
When they arrived in sickbay, Lorian saw Scott laid across a bio bed. His anger started to bubble over, but he was doing everything in his power to not blow up on his officers. He let FA Kirk deal with them for now because if it was up to them he would throw both of them out the airlock.
Yet as Lorian heard McLean's story the more he realized that he couldn't really control his emotions. He himself had done the same thing when his wife and child were taken from him. He had attacked everything and anything that moved. He was suffering and the only way to find solace would be to confront what had happened.
After FA Kirk gave his orders both of them left and made their way towards Command. Even though Lorian wanted to be there for their officer he knew that the Gorn arrival was more important.
"Sir, what are we going to do about those two?" Lorian asked.
"I don't know yet, but we have bigger things to worry about. Lets get back to the Command Deck and finish up with the preparations for the Gorn arrival."
The walk towards Command was a quiet yet swift one. Once they arrived on Command they were asked of the situation, but both of them just walked into FA Kirk's office leaving them to guess the worst.
Once he was in his officer Kirk let out his anger on his desk. The spot where his fist had hit was now cracked and ready to shatter.
"Kirk calm down, we cannot get off track, I should of taken care of it a long time ago," Lorian said as he picked up the things that had fallen onto the floor.
"Lorian is this going to be my job, stopping my officers from killing themselves," Kirk asked as he sat down. For the first time in a long time Lorian realized that his friend was not a god, he was a person who had become tired.
"No, Kirk, your job is to keep everyone on this star base and in the Federation safe," Lorian said sitting down," the other stuff I will handle."
That brought a smile and laugh out of his friend and both of them once again began to work.
OCC: It's up to FA Kirk if I'm present in your meeting, Simon.

McLean awoke with a heavy moan, his head throbbed with every beat of his heart. Cracking his eyes McLean tried to shade his eyes from the bright light that seemed to be coming from every direction. McLean felt his stomach gurgle and he held back the strong urge to vomit.
"Welcome back from the dead." A voice said casually.
McLean turned and looked in the direction of the voice. He noticed he was sitting on a bed in the brig, a lone security officer was standing on the other side of the shield smiling at the Chief Engineer.
"What am I doing here?" McLean said turning back to face the ceiling again.
"You had gotten into a fight with Marine Captain Church, Admiral Kirk ordered us to place you here until you came around." The officer replied.
"I don't remember getting into a fight..."McLean said softly.
"You did consume too much alcohol."
Hearing the words from the officer's mouth triggered McLean memories, his actions seemed to be somebody else's as he reflected on the things he could remember.
"Admiral Kirk this is Ensign Chavez, Commander McLean is awake."
"Good, I will be down shortly. Kirk out."
McLean heard the conversation, getting to his feet he tried the best he could to look presentable for the Admiral. Looking in the mirror McLean opened up the large sink and splashed water on his face hoping to wipe away the guilt and the hang over he was now feeling.

"A fight has apparently broken out between officers, nothing to worry about, I'm sure they will be dealt with orderly"
Ko'Vor said over the com to Metta. Kirk and Smith had just got up and left when the news got through and so he was left there in Kirks office, wondering if that was the end of the meeting or if he should stay.
Computer, record message to be received when Kirk next uses his Com.
"Ready" the computer replayed in anticipation.
"This is Ko'Vor, Sorry you had to leave... i hope the situation is....well...under control. I don't understand why your 'trained' officers are fighting but i hope it is solved soon. Because i don't know if this meeting is over i will presume it is suspended and when you hear this message i will be back in my own office. If you wish to continue out talks. and whatever this football tactic is, i will be there waiting. Ko'vor out."
He hadn't understood parts of the meeting, this 'Football' seemed something that excited Both Kirk and Smith so he presumed it was a new tactical advantage and was eager to hear about it. Why else would it be mentioned in a tactical meeting?
Ko'Vor left Kirks office and continued to his own. When he entered he was met once again by silents and boredom, and continued writing reports on all the battles lately he has encountered for the archives.

Kirk had been sitting in his quarters pondering what he was going to do about the situation between Commander McLean and Captain Church. He reviewed the statements and watched the video footage from the bar, it was clear to Kirk that Church was simply trying to defend himself against the drunken Chief Engineer. Watching the film Kirk spotted Daya always enjoying the bout, it was no secret to Kirk that Daya had always enjoyed a good fight.
"Admiral Kirk this is Ensign Chavez, Commander McLean is awake."
"Good, I will be down shortly. Kirk out."
Looking at the old fashioned clock Kirk noted the time as 2300, McLean had slept for several hours and there was a good chance he was feeling the hang over Kirk wanted him too. Grabbing his jacket Kirk walked out of his quarters and began the trek down to the brig. As he walked he noted the emptiness of the command side of the station, it appeared as if life never walked those hallways.
It didn't take Kirk long to reach the brig, when he walked in officer Chavez stood at attention.
"As you were." Kirk said walking over to the cell McLean was sitting in.
Kirk stopped in front of the cell and looked over his shoulder at the officer, nodding once Chavez lowered the force field.
"I have something for you," Kirk said holding out a hypo spray, "This should ease the pain you are feeling."
McLean looked down in shame, "Thank you sir." He said softly as he brought his eyes back up to the Admiral.
"Commander you have disgraced your uniform, the one thing I will not tolerate under my command are Starfleet officers fighting each other. I understand your pain, but that is no excuse for what you have done." Kirk said.
"I know sir, I-" McLean started.
"I'm not finished Commander," Kirk interrupted, "As of this moment I here by demote you to Lieutenant, and you are to report to my office tomorrow morning at 0700, there I shall determine if I still want you on my station or not."
With out saying another word Kirk tossed the hypo spray on the floor underneath McLean's feet then proceeded to leave.
"He is free to go." Kirk said before leaving the brig.

Admiral Kirk's Office 0700
McLean had reported early to Kirk's office, but Kirk was waiting for Captain Church to show up before he decided to kick things off.
The door chime rang and Kirk quickly called back for whom ever was on the other side to enter, the doors slid open and Captain Church stepped in.
"Sit down, Captain Church," said the Admiral formally. "I've been able to talk with Mr. McLean.-"
Kirk had spent the an hour looking over the official report from Commander Smith before McLean came in, to make sure everything was represented fairly from his report he had invited Commander Smith.
"Captain Church, I wanted a chance to review what had happened before I made a rash decision. I took a look at the bar footage and was able to determine that you handled yourself as any Starfleet officer would have in that position. There will be no actions take against you, but as the CO of the Marine division I am leaving it open to you if you wish to submit possible punishment for the actions taken against you."

Church was surprised at this statement. "You mean Commander McLean's punishment?"
"Yes," clarified Kirk.
Church thought for a moment. "I suppose we could just forget the whole thing. He did seem a little drunk... I"d like to see a mark on his record, though."
"I've been demoted," put in McLean in a dull tone. He didn't sound like he cared. Or maybe he did, but his wife's death was still severly affecting him. Church, not being married, wouldn't know.
"Yes," agreed Kirk, "you have."
"Well, I don't think there is much else you can do," said Church. "Kicking him out of your starbase isn't going to solve anything. I have some... very big problems with my new shipment of Marines. They are a lot worse than McLean, and its my job to whip them into shape or make sure they get out of Starfleet. If they are still in, McLean should be, too."

"He's here," said the Ferengi bartender cheerfuly.
"So soon?" asked Hayes. "I'm impressed. We'll be able to mess up their little talk with that Gorn Ambassador."
The bartender grinned. "Good for business. More people are sad, want to get drunk, and come here. I really am beginning to like you. Ah, I almost forgot. He wants to be paid in advance. You have the money now?"
"Yes," said Hayes. "I'll bring it tonight."
"He will be there, as will I," said the Ferengi, reminding Hayes of his pay, too. "And I should warn you this guy doesn't fool around. He'll watch your Marine Captain for a few days, to make sure he knows where he will be. Then he'll kill him - you said you wanted it to be clear he was killed, and not make it look like natural causes, right? - and someone will find his body in the morning."
"I think he could make it look like it was that engineer," mused Hayes. "The one he got in a fight with last night."
"McLean. A good idea. I'll pass it on. Good day."

"Thank you Captain, you may report back to your men." Kirk said standing up.
Church nodded and left the room in silence, leaving McLean and Commander Smith alone with Admiral Kirk. McLean looked out of place as he sat with the tall Admiral towering over him. Commander Smith had the look of disgust on his face as he stood in the corner of the office with his arms tightly crossed.
"Lieutenant, you are to report down to the Darkhawk and supervise the repairs. You are still the best engineer we have out here and I am going to be pressing for results. If possible I would like the Darkhawk to be space worthy with in the week, understood?" Kirk said looking down on the engineer.
"Yes sir." McLean said in a strong voice, the kind of voice a cadet uses when he first arrives at the Academy.
"Dismissed."
McLean got up from his chair and made for the door as quick as he could before Commander Smith got a chance to stop him.

McLean left Kirk's office leaving Kirk and Smith alone in the office to discuss the matter at hand, the Gorn's arrival. Sensors placed the Gorn's flagship only mere hours away from DSB.
"General Ko'Vor, please report to my office."
It didn't take long for the Klingon warrior to report into Kirk's office.
"General, please tell me we are ready for the Gorn's ship." Kirk said hoping to hear some good news.

"General Ko'Vor, please report to my office."
It didn't take long for Ko'Vor to wonder up to command, he was ready to be called back anyhow.
"General, please tell me we are ready for the Gorn's ship." Kirk said hoping to hear some good news.
Ko'Vor looked towards the desk, but not at Kirk. "No, i cant say we are fully ready. I ordered starfleet supplies to send us some new equipment and weapons, that way the station can be fit for a battle even with a full Borg fleet! But as we are now and not knowing Gorn technology, i don't know how ready we can be. However the U'Hitar is ready, the shuttles, runabouts and fighter drones are on stand bye and all that isn't fit is the defiant. Hopefully that will be enough."
Ko'Vor looked at Kirk finally. Feeling as if he hadn't done enough to get them ready. But the gorn may have not advanced as much as starfleet since James Kirks times. so he couldn't know what is expected.

Kirk listened to his first office as he presented his report, as Ko'Vor finished Kirk found himself surprised at the amount of effort the Klingon had put into his task. In reflection Kirk had actually never run across a Klingon who had ever not done any assignment more than 100%.
"Good work General," Kirk replied, "I think that ever though we should expect a peaceful appearance from the Gorn we are more than prepared for anything that may arise."
Small talk broke out between the three men about various recent events, but the aim of the conversations stayed close on the subject of the Gorn.
"How does the Klingon's feel about peace talks with the Gorn?" Kirk asked General Ko'Vor.

The Station stank.
There was no other way of putting it, the disgusting odour had reached Malachi's nose as soon as he had stepped off the Transporter Pad on the Civillian Sector. Apparantly there were sewage treatment issues.
He didn't care, all he wanted was to pick up the remainder of his belongings and then depart back to the Seven Dispensations.
The smell was making it hard for him to focus. He coughed a few times and rubbed his temples. With this a certain amount of clarity entered his clogged mind and he entered the Turbolift that took him to his destination, Deck 2... He imagined that Kirk would have those quarters now but he hoped that his belongings would still be there.
As he entered Deck 2 he was relieved to find that the smell had not followed him. Apparantly only the Lower Decks were affected. Again, he didn't really care. He was soon to say farewell to the Station forever, if he got his way anyway. With his promotion to Admiral and the Command of the Seven he had hoped this meant goodbye to the Beta Quadrant, however, now he could see this was becoming more and more unlikely. Starfleet was opening negotiations with the Gorn and with the Metron prescence secured, Malachi could only wonder where he was to be assigned now. For now he and the Seven would remain on detachment to Beta, this allowed for Crew training etc. With Kirk in Command of Beta and the Darkhawk now Malachi thought of what had happened to Ko'Vor, he knew the Klingon and his vessel were still docked at the Station, but apart from that he knew nothing else. He had kept himself to himself over the past few weeks, focussing on the Seven and her finishing touches. He had personally overseen the installment of the new two-storey Med-Deck and had also be present to witness the activation of something rather startling... The Seven's A.I. This had rather shocked Malachi, he had not heard that his ship would in effect be "alive". It disconcerted him slightly but as yet he had not managed to "talk" with the A.I. as "she" was still undergoing final prep.
He switched off from thinking as he became aware that he was standing outside his old quarters. He unlocked the door and entered. Sure enough, his belongings were all there, as he had left them. Some were scattered here and there from the attack on the Station. Had it really been that long since he had walked through the doors? Malachi gathered the few possessions and sighed, he had yet to even move into his quarters on the Seven, sleeping in either guest quarters or on the Bridge whenever he could grab a few quiet minutes. His Ready Room wasn't even finished yet. However, he had been assured it would soon be done.
"Ah, Admiral. I was told I could find you here."
Malachi turned round and stared at Stevenson who had appeared in the doorway. The young officer had been temporarily assigned as his FO and Malachi found him to be particularly annoying.
"Yes Lt.?" Malachi said frowning.
"Lieutenant Commander..." He started. "With all due respect of course Sir." Malachi glared, the officer continued. "I have a padd for you Sir." He said, handing over the small rectangular shaped object. Malachi pressed his thumb against the ID chip and entered his security clearance. He scan read the padd. He could barely supress a laugh, Kirk was going to love this.
"Mr. Stevenson, report back to the Seven. Inform them that I will not be returning today. Keep me up-to-date on the progress of the A.I. installation." Malachi ordered.
"Sir?"
"Did you not here me Lieutenant?" He snapped.
"No... I mean Yes Sir!"
"Dismissed." Malachi said with a growl and the scared human departed at phenomenal speeds. He tapped his comm badge. The smile now gone from his face, a little bit of confusion showing.
"Caspian to Kirk and Ko'Vor. I suggest we meet as soon as possible in the Station Commander's Office. I have some... interesting news..."
Malachi closed the comm and then stepped onto the site-to-site transporter that was present in his old quarters. Within seconds he had dematerialised and rematerialised on the Command Deck.
"Where is FA Kirk?" He snapped.
"He is in session with General Ko'Vor." The Duty Officer reported. "Sir, you cannot..." He started but Malachi ignored him, swooping into the Office.
"Gentlemen." He said, nodding at the two of them. "Get my message?" He added coyly.
