Metrel was hard at work, which was something that he had not done in a very long time. If it came to be that the Klingon's and the Federation didn't want to settle he would accept that, but he was moving things into place so that it would rock the Metron Consortium to it knees. Metrel had just decided to permanently move his administration to Metronia. The rest of the Royal Council will still remain in their protective space.
"Are you sure about this sir?" Farn asked as he walked to wards Metrel.
"Yes, I have felt that we have over expanded our territory for to long," Metrel said hoping that his friend would understand," we need to make allies for what lies ahead."
"Do you think that they will be able to help?" Narn asked as he came into the conversation.
"Yes, we have known for a long time that they would return and there are signs that they are here," Metrel said.
"If that is so why are here?" Farn asked.
"This is our homeland, they will come here first and we must be ready," Metrel said," that is why we cloaked the planet so long ago. The Consortium felt that this was the only way to protect Metronia, but we now know we were wrong."
"Have you contacted our allies in the Royal Council?" Metrel asked.
"Yes sir and they have agreed," Farn said.
"Good, we will need their support when I do this," Metrel said as he stood up to take a drink of water.
"Sir we have also started in the cleaning of the planet," Narn reported," the remaining thelaron radiation will be destroyed in a matter days."
"Good, because of know not even the Breen can survive on the planet," Metrel said as he headed to wards his chair.
When he sat down, the Fire of Metronia lit up. When it lit up Metrel knew that his worst fears had been realized.
"Leave me now," Metrel said as he ran to wards the fire. He needed to know how much time they had. Metrel took his ring and through it into the fire and a hissing sound quickly followed.
Metrel quickly put his hand in the fire and retrieved the ring. Metrel looked inside the stone and it read.
Three months, four days, 19 hours, 23 seconds, 52 milliseconds until The Forge
OCC: Okay guys I know that this mission is wrapping up, but I have posted this so that it can lead into another mission. This post is not meant to lead into this mission, but as the title states, it is a warning. A powerful enemy is heading our way and there is no to escape them.

The meeting ended rather quickly with Capsian and Ko’Vor. The situation seemed odd with both the Federation and the Klingon Empire, where both societies seemed uneager to jump right in and colonies the Metron home world of Metoria. As Kirk walked to transporter room one to meet Dr. Fenel he marveled at the new ship he was aboard. Caspian had a fine ship under his command, even if it was just temporary.
Stepping into the transporter room Kirk walked around to stand next to the transporter chief as he waited for Fenel to arrive. He did not have to wait long as the doctor was quickly escorted into the transporter room by what appeared to be a nurse.
“Are you going to be alright doctor?” Kirk asked as he gently grabbed a hold of the doctor’s arm.
“I will be fine sir.” Fenel replied with a sound of confidence.
“Glad to hear it.” Kirk said with a smile as he helped the doctor up onto the transporter pad.
Kirk nodded to the transporter chief letting him know they were both ready. The transporter chief worked on his console establishing a lock on the transporter room one on DSB.
“Already sir.”
“Energize.” Kirk said.
Instantly Kirk and Fenel were transported back to Deep Space Beta. They were welcomed by a nurse and a Marine who Kirk thought to be the Chief of Base Security. The nurse assisted Fenel off the transporter pad and out of the transporter room. The Marine followed Kirk out of the transporter room on his way to the bridge.
“What’s the situation Captain?” Kirk asked to the Marine Captain.

Soon after Kirk left Ko'Vor excused himself leaving Malachi alone with his thoughts. He could see that Kirk was finding it easy to settle in on Beta, he wondered how the Captain would take the good news when he received it. He also felt a little cast away, he had never wanted the Captaincy of Beta, however now it was time to say goodbye he felt truly strange. He wondered how Ko'Vor was handling the situation. Malachi decided that he had truly misjudged the Klingon. He was an honourable warrior, one that had suffered a great loss today, because of Starfleet, yet he was still willing to proceed with negotiations between the three parties.
=^= Bridge to Caspian, there is a Starfleet vessel approaching at Warp 8. It has an Unknown Registry Number and prefix code =^=
Malachi frowned, slightly annoyed his thoughts had been interupted. "Understood Bridge, I am on my way." He left the Ambassadorial Suite and made his way to the Bridge, though lacking in Turbolifts it was surpisingly quick to get from one place to another. He strolled onto the Bridge and glanced around before taking the centre position.
"Report." He said, to no one in particular.
"The vessel will arrive within the hour. We received a communique before you arrived Sir. Apparantly there is an Admiral Yang onboard requesting a presence with yourself and Captain Kirk."
Malachi began to process this. He had never heard of a Admiral Yang before. "Infrom the Admiral that I am ready and waiting, and inform Captain Kirk to get back over here ASAP. I will be in my quarters. Contact me when the Admiral's ship arrives." He replied.

“The station has suffered a great deal of damage.” Captain Johnson said as Kirk walked briskly to the Command Deck.
“Tell me something I do not already know Marine.” Kirk said roughly as he could see the damage all around him.
Johnson frowned at Kirk’s hard words keeping his inner thoughts to himself. The two men arrived on the Command Deck as Johnson took his normal station. Looking over one of the working console’s Kirk had a better idea of what was going on.
“Sir, we have received a communication for you from Captain Caspian.” An Operations officer said looking up at Kirk.
“I will take it in the office.” Kirk said pointing to the Base Commander’s officer.
“Aye sir.”
Stepping into the officer Kirk had no time to really think back on the few times Caspian and himself had gone toe to toe in this officer. Sitting down Kirk flicked on the screen and the image of Caspian blinked on instantly.
“What can I do for you Captain?” Kirk said extending full respect to the man.
“Kirk I have to make this brief, I need you to beam back over here as soon as possible.” Caspian replied.
“I do not think I can manage that at this moment, I have a base that needs repairs and with a thin senior staff I really cant afford to leave the base unattended.” Kirk said.
“An Admiral Yang is on the way to come seek an audience with us.” Caspian said finally letting the cat out of the bag.
“I see,” Kirk said pausing to lean back in his chair, “Hail me as soon as the Admiral arrives in the system and I will beam over.”
“Understood, Caspian out.”

Cyle stood waiting in the transporter room after he had arrived to the star base. He had very little time to do anything before he was called down to the room, where he was told the captain was on his way.

It had not been long since Kirk spoke with Caspian about the arrival of the Admiral to Deep Space Beta. Sitting alone in the Base Commander’s office Kirk thought about the day’s events, the death of Commander Ikar and the attack he caused against the Metrons. Looking at the extensive damage first in the office and then out of the office windows to the Command Deck Kirk found himself wondering who would be taking over command of the base. Probably the Admiral, Kirk thought to himself. It was the only reasonable explanation for why he was heading out this far into the Beta Quadrant.
“Captain, we are being hailed by Admiral Yang.”
Kirk breathed a heavy sigh before standing to his feet to make his way onto the battle damaged Command Deck. As soon as he had walked out of his office all eyes turned to gaze up at him, “Open the channel.” Kirk said.
The main view screen blinked from the home world of Metoria to the large face of a human Admiral. The man was much older than Kirk with short gray hair that matched well with the long wrinkles on the Asian man’s face.
“Captain Kirk I presume?” Yang asked.
“Yes sir.” Kirk replied trying to stand tall regardless of his injuries.
“Kirk, I want you to make sure that station of yours is in shipshape condition when I arrive, I plan to do an entire inspection on our newest Starbase before I leave.”
“Sir, I was under the understanding that you would be boarding Captain Caspian’s ship.”
“I changed my mind. I am an Admiral and I can do that, understood Captain?” Yang fired back.
“Of course sir, I completely understand.” Kirk said.
“Make sure that station is in order, Yang out.”
Kirk’s shoulders relaxed as the main view screen flashed back to the view of the Metron home world. He found himself gazing out at the various Klingon ships and the more threatening Metron ships still in a attack formation around the station.
“Captain Johnson,” Kirk said snapping his mind back to reality, “I want you to organize two teams and begin to check on the status of the engineers. Assist them with whatever they might need. The Admiral should be here with in the hour and I want this station cleaned up as much as possible.”

“Attention,” Kirk shouted over the talking of the Command Deck, “I need everybody to work as hard as they can on their specific stations to ensure everything is going to be working for when the Admiral arrives.”
Kirk began to make his way back to the Base Commander’s office when he remembered the Darkhawk was still out on its mission. Kirk knew the Darkhawk was not supposed to return from its mission for the better part of a week but given the arrival of the Admiral and the attack on the station he felt better knowing his ship was back at DSB to protect the station.
“Ensign, send a message to the Darkhawk and inform them of our situation and to return back to DSB at once.” Kirk said before stepping into the office.
Sitting down Kirk opened a single channel to Captain Caspian.
“What can I do for you Captain?” Caspian asked.
“There has been a change of plans I am afraid,” Kirk said learning forward in his chair with his hands folded on the table, “It seems Admiral Yang wishes to inspect Deep Space Beta rather than beam over to your ship. I will make arrangements for you to beam over with in the hour.”
“Understood, Caspian out.”
Kirk turned off the monitor and looked out onto the Command Deck, the Admiral’s arrival had caused problems with repairs. Kirk feared some of the engineers might be more worried with making the Admiral happy than making sure the repairs were done completely. McLean might not be a happy man when he returns, Kirk thought to himself.

"right, will do" Cyle left the bridge and tapped his comm badge, " teams beta and Charlie, report to engineering now"
Cyle had already created his teams when he received word that he would be transfer over to the star base, he had all the info, and let the team members know. This would be the first encounter with their commanding officer.
When Cyle arrived, he was glad to see that his teams were already there. "OK listen up, Beta, i want you to help the engineers with whatever they ask, if they need someone to wipe the sweet from their brows, do it. Charlie team, your on clean up detail, we got an admiral on his way shortly, get this place spotless, i will send Alpha and Delta to help you."
The two teams looked at him for a moment then went straight to work, they never expected something like this on the first encounter. "Alpha and Delta, grab a broom and dust pad, start cleaning, i want you to take the top 12 decks, split up and clean like your marines" Cyle said over his comm badge, then went to help the engineers,

Post by Ko'Vor on Dec 1, 2005 18:03:56 GMT -5
the last of Ko'Vor's ships were leaving the area, now all that was left was the U'Hitar and one bird of prey. Metta was stationed on the bird of prey to cover command whilst the crews re-distributed.
Ko'Vor was summoned to the command deck. 'What is it?' he asked as he walked onto the deck. 'We are reading a ship marked as a carrier of an admiral for Starfleet general.' 'What is Starfleet up to now? We have only just got over the last problems.' 'text messages we have intercepted suggest all it is, is a general review and tour of the station. I don’t think its anything to worry about.' 'In any case have another bird of prey ready to change course back on tactical alert. just in case.' 'Yes sir.'
Ko'Vor moved to a comm. system and pushing a finger into a button he spoke. 'Requesting permission to board DSB' a calm computer voice on the other side replied 'granted.' Ko'Vor boarded the station and went to the command deck, hoping someone was in the captains room. he wanted to ask if he was needed in the next few days or if they had other plans for him.
Entering the command deck he asked a nearby officer 'Who is currently in charge here?'

'Who is currently in charge here?' Kirk head from the top of the Command Deck.
“That would be me General.” Kirk replied turning around to face the Klingon General. Walking up the few steps to the top of the Command Deck Kirk brought himself closer to General Ko’Vor, “Follow me General.” Kirk said heading into the Base Commander’s office.
Turning around Kirk stood face to face with the Klingon warrior, “General as of right now I am the Acting Base Commander of DSB and I do not have a first officer on board this station. As you can tell this station is in a great deal of trouble of the fight we had just been in. I want to reinstate you as DSB’s first officer, what do you say?”

The conversation was abruptly ended when an operations officer pressed the door chime to the office.
“Enter.” Kirk called out.
“Excuse my interruption sirs, but I regret to inform you that we are unable to reach the Darkhawk, she has failed to respond to any of our hails.”
Kirks expression drew more serious, “Keep trying to raise the Darkhawk and get me a detailed analysis of their last known location.”
“Aye sir.” The man replied and he left the two officers.
Kirk walked around the desk and took a seat facing General Ko’Vor. Kirk took a deep breath and tried to clear his head of all the things happening at once. He had always been a starship Captain, trying to run a space station was as new to him as anything else and the only thing he had going for him was his many years of experience.
“Captain Johnson how are the repairs coming along?” Kirk asked.

As you can tell this station is in a great deal of trouble of the fight we had just been in. I want to reinstate you as DSB’s first officer, what do you say?” Ko'Vor was shocked by this request. he had only come to check on the situation, and now was being asked to resume his duties onboard the station. He stood for a moment and thought.
'Kirk, i think we could become good friends, and as i was going to be posted in this area anyhow it makes sense that i take on more duties. I can put Metta in command of the U'Hitar at times I'm here. I accept your request, but i hope you understand that this time i have more duties to attend to with the klingons, yet I am confident i can do both. I accept.'
Kirk was unable to speak as, as Ko'Vor finished talking when the operations officer entered the room.
Ko'Vor sat down and shrtly afterwards Kirk did also.
'Captain, where did the Darkhawk go? The last we knew on the U'Hitar, it cloaked and left the area, we didn’t follow it as it wasn’t something we thought was important. Maybe now i can be told what the situation is?'

“To the best of my knowledge the Darkhawk should be somewhere near the old location of the Genesis Planet. Looking through the logs I have here in front of me I have not seen any progress reports or transmissions from the Darkhawk at all. Its as if she just disappeared,” Kirk said shifting his weight in the chair, “I do have full confidence though that she is in good hands with Commander Smith.”
Kirk slid the PADD across his desk to let the General take a look at the situation and get his thoughts. Kirk hated to admit it but he had more pressing matter on his hands, the sudden unannounced arrival of a high ranking Admiral was very unusual for this deep space station.
“General I must take my leave of you for right now. I would like it if you could assist the tactical engineers with the repairs needed to the shields and weapons systems, I have heard you are quite the guru when it comes to aligning targeting computers.” Kirk said getting up out of his chair.

Walking off the Command Deck into the turbo lift Kirk made his way down to sickbay to check on his doctor. On board Caspian’s ship he had been given a brief report on her condition but wanted to hear it from his doctor. Entering sickbay Kirk was shocked at the amount of wounded that lay about the large room.
“Where is Doctor Fenel?” Kirk asked the first passing Nurse.
“She is over there.” The Nurse pointed.
Walking slowly Kirk looked at each of the injured officers and crewmembers, nodding to some, and touching the ones that seemed to be in a much worst condition. Kirk finally made his way down the line of wounded to Doctor Fenel.
“How are you doing Doctor?” Kirk asked.

The conversation between Fenel and Kirk was interrupted by another nurse, “Sir, are you Captain Kirk?”
“I am.” Kirk replied
“I need you to take a look at this,” the nurse said leading the way to the nearest computer console.
“What is it?” Kirk asked arriving at the console.
“Do you have a Lt. Commander McLean under your command sir?” The nurse asked.
“Yes I do, why do you ask?”
The nurse placed her finger under a list of names, all with the last name McLean. Kirk looked in shock at the names then turned his head back to the nurse who let out a loud sigh. Looking back at the console she moved her finger across the console. Kirk followed with his eyes until the woman’s finger stopped out of the three names only one had a single word on that line. Looking back at the name Kirk’s shoulders dropped.
“Oh no.” Kirk said outloud.

The USS Federation kept heading toward Deep Space Beta at full steam. Admiral Yang was busy in his ready room working with several objects and stacking up several PADDs for the use in the inspection of DSB. The man looked as if he was going hunting for Starfleet Captains. The man grinned as he looked over each of the PADDs.
“Admiral we shall be arriving at Deep Space Beta with in ten minutes.” An officer said over the COM system.
“Thank you Commander, please inform Captains Caspian, and Kirk to meet me on board Deep Space Beta in transporter room one.”
“Aye sir.”
The Commander instructed his tactical officer to send the message to the two Captain and watched as the USS Federation drew closer to the station.

Kirk slid over a padd for the general to look at. It had a situation report on it which was quickly read. Ko'Vor looked more thoroughly through the tactical reports. it seemed they weren’t making full use of nearly half of their systems. He had noticed this before, the weapons were only being used to half the maximum effect.
“General I must take my leave of you for right now. I would like it if you could assist the tactical engineers with the repairs needed to the shields and weapons systems, I have heard you are quite the guru when it comes to aligning targeting computers.” Kirk said getting up out of his chair.
" I Believe I already have some ideas captain... especially about efficiently."
Ko'Vor was excited, this station had the POWER to destroy practically anything from a Borg cube and even possibly a metron vesstle. Unfortunately though it didn’t have the MEANS to do this and only used half the allocated power on the weapons systems anyhow, decreasing there fighting efficiently by even more.
Whilst Ko'Vor was thinking Kirk was getting up to leave and bit farewell. Ko'Vor remained looking at the padd for a while, then moving around to Kirks side of the desk he opened a channel to the U'Hitar. explaining the new situation he was pleased the crew supported him.

Fenel had slept for what seemed like hours when Willow woke her up. "I hate to bother you, but You need to eat something."
When Fenel opened her eyes shou found she could see fuzzy shapes, which was much better then before.
"What colour am I wearing?" Willow asked, Fenel fingured this was her way of checking on the healing.
Fenel shook her head "I have no clue, My implants don't show colour. Although at least now I know where you are, the fuzzy blob standing on my left."
"That's better then nothing. Here, I replicated a sandwich for you." Willow replied, Fenel saw part of the fuzzy blod stretch out, and she grasped the sandwhich/
"How are the patients?" she asked, it was impossible for her to determine anything any further then Willow.
"Most have been sent to the quarters to rest, a few are staying here for observation and everyonce an awhile we get another crewman with an injury from the repairs." Willow anwerd.
Fenel was about to comment when she heard the door to sickbay slide open. "It's Captain Kirk." Willow told her.
“How are you doing Doctor?” Kirk asked.
Fenel looked over at what she assumed was the captain "Better, I can see vague resemblances of shapes now. I'm assumming that at this rate I'll be able to get back to work within a few days, although it may take longer for my surgical vision to restore itself to normal."
"Surgical vision?" Kirk asked.
"Oh, I thought you knew. I sacraficed my ability to see colour to make space for the technology to focus in on small areas, I can zoom in to preform tricky surgeries." Fenel replied.

Cyle had just entered the command deck when he heard Kirks voice out of the crowd. “Captain Johnson how are the repairs coming along?” Kirk asked.
"Repairs? who said anything about repairs, you said clean, and thats what half my teams are doing. But other than that, the teams down in engineering are almost complete with the more critical repiars needed, they will begin working on the less important systems within the hour"
Cyle looked away and shook his head as he looked at the reports given to him by the team leaders. 'jeez, whats wrong with starbase captains these days?' Cyle thought to himself as he sat down in a chair and continued to read the reports
