Kirk was sitting in his chair on the bridge when he heard the doors open to the turbo lift open. Kirk turned his head and noticed that Commander Smith had come back to the bridge of the now deserted Darkhawk.
"Welcome back Number one." Kirk said still looking down at the PADD in his hand, "I do hope you killed the station commander."
<Tag Commander Smith>
"I see." Kirk said looking up from his PADD, "I have somethings I want to go over with you. How about we grab something to eat on the station?"
<Tag Commander Smith>
"Excellent." Kirk said getting up from his chair and heading towards the turbo lift with Commander Smith following behind.
After a few minutes of walking and small talk both officers stepped out off the air lock. They each looked around a bit still awestruck at the engineering the station had to go through to build it.
As they began walking kirk started talking again, "I got a communication from Starfleet. They say the Gorn have started to communicate with Starfleet since the completion of this station."
Kirk and Smith nodded to a few junior officers as they past through the crowds heading towards the habitat ring of the station. When they got to the front of the crowd they were again shocked at the sheer size of the station and the many different vendors available to choose from. Kirk wanted to know how they got all these people to come here so fast. It all became all to clear when a Ferengi business man stepped forward greeting the senior officers.
"Welcome!" He said putting his hands on Kirk's left arm and Smith's right.
Kirk and Smith both looked at their arms and then back at the Ferengi giving him a cold look. The Ferengi quickly took his arms off and walked away mumbling.
"Take your pick Commander," Kirk said with his arm stretched out towards the many food vendors.

"Status Report from all Stations." He barked.
Scott was alarmed at the suddent out burst. He watched as all the stations checked in and reported their current conditions. Captain Caspian gaze came down upon Scotty was standing at the Operations station.
"Who are you?" He asked.
Stepping away from the station Scott stood at attention, "I am Lt. Commander Scott McLean sir. I am the Chief Engineer aboard the Darkhawk and your Chief of Base Operations Officer."

Scott could now clearly see why Captain Kirk had stormed off like he did when he left Captain Caspian's office. Well he is not a very freindly man at all, Scott thought to himself.

As soon as Malachi had shouted his order there was a minute of chaos and then the reports started to come in. Caspian skim read most of them and half listened to the audio ones, he wasn't that bothered. He knew that it was very unlikely that there would be something wrong at this early stage.
=^= Ko'Vor to Caspian =^=
Malachi ignored it, he had no desire to speak with the Klingon at this point.
=^= This is Ko'Vor I decided as I wasn’t being answered on the com I would use a more...direct method. I have finished overseeing the loading of the freight vessel. I have also confiscated some items that could be a security risk, the crew seem happy to leave without them =^=
Malachi continued to ignore the voice, he wouldn't cut the comm just yet, he wanted to see how the Klingon would react. Instead he moved over to an officer he had not yet met.
=^= They now need clearance to leave the station, I trust you can handle that from up there or do you need my help with that simple job too? Still, I will be on my way up there to hold your hand through the procedures if you wish, sir? =^=
"That will be unecessary Mr. Ko'Vor, although thank you for your kind request. I wonder if your kind heart comes from the Klingon within you, or perhaps you really are some sort of mongrel cross-breed. I don't think your presence is quite needed though." Malachi replied, the Command deck look stunned at how rude he had just been.
Caspian didn't even listen to the reply and cut the comm before the Klingon could finish.
Malachi looked down at the Officer he didn't know.
"Who are you?" He asked.
Stepping away from the station Scott stood at attention, "I am Lt. Commander Scott McLean sir. I am the Chief Engineer aboard the Darkhawk and your Chief of Base Operations Officer."
"Indeed? You serve on both Deep Space Beta and the Darkhawk? Well, we will have to see if we can change that. Continue with your work Lieutenant Commander."
Malachi, left the startled officer and continued to walk around Command, checking in on Stations, just as he was about to retire to his office again the comms channel console flickered, seeing no one was manning that station (something Caspian would sort out later) he moved to the station and pressed the receive button.
=^= Federation Outpost, please state your nature so close to our Consortium =^=
It was just on audio which Malachi found a little confusing, he ran a voice check on the sender of the message.
"This is Captain Malachi Caspian of the Federation Starbase Deep Space Beta, with whom am I speaking too?"
=^= That is of no concern of yours, please state your nature so close to the Consortium =^=
There was that word again, Consortium, why was it so familiar?
"I am here under the jurisdiction of the Federation Council and Starfleet Command, perhaps if you have an issue with this then you can raise it with them. We are here for peaceful exploration and possible alliance making."
=^= You will be hearing more from us Captain Caspian =^= The comm crackled and went dead.
Malachi moved down onto the main Command deck.
"How did we not detect their ship?!" He yelled.
"There is no ship out there, Sir." McLean replied.
"Impossible, I need an immediate scan of the local area, and I want it in under 15 minutes. I also need a scan of that voice print and also a background check on the word Consortium, am I understood?!"
There came a murmur of replies and Malachi stormed to his officer and slapped his hand on his comm badge.
"Caspian to Ko'Vor and Kirk, report to my office immediately." He closed the comm and poured himself a mug of tea and began to pace his office, waiting...

"Caspian to Ko'Vor and Kirk, report to my office immediately."
Kirk was just moments away from taking his first bite of food when Captain Caspian come over the COM channel. Kirk dropped his fork, letting it a fall from his mouth back down onto the plate where it came from. He then looked at Commander Smith who was shocked to see his Captain's reaction to the request.
"Would you please join me Commander? It is only fair my first officer gets to come if his does." Kirk said smiling at the child like nature of his joke.
"Of course sir." Commander Smith replied whipping his mouth as he got up from the table.
The two officers walked at a moderate pace towards the nearest turbo lift. Although Caspian sounded a bit excited Kirk felt he was not going to rush when ever the man called. Entering the turbo lift the two men proceeded to Command Center.
Once on the Command Deck Kirk noticed Scott McLean was still manning the OPS station so he decided to find out what was going on.
"What's the situation Mr. McLean?" Kirk asked as he approached the OPS station.
"Well Captain, we just got our selfs a very strange hail. It was audio only. The voice just wanted to know our reason for being close to their...boarder. They said a word I cannot remember." Reported McLean.
"What is so urgent about that?" Kirk asked looking at Commander Smith.
"Well sir, I scanned the area for ships and there were none. With the sensors on board this station I could have told you how many torpedoes the Darkhawk has when she is cloaked."
"Alright, I guess we should go see what the tyrant wants then. Shall we?" Kirk said first looking up at Caspian's officer then looking at Commander Smith.
Kirk walked up the stairs and proceeded into Caspian's office intentionally forgetting to not chime in. Once through the office doors he saw Caspian pacing back and forth with a cup of tea in his hand.
"What seems to be the problem Mr. Caspian?" Kirk said clearly ignoring the man's rank.

Malachi turned to face the door as Kirk entered.
"What seems to be the problem Mr. Caspian?"
"1. You did not knock, 2. You called me Mr., and 3. We have engaged the Metrons."
<TAG Kirk>
"Oh please Kirk, do I have to give you a History lesson? The Metrons were first encountered by a James. T. Kirk, I assume you've heard of him?" Malachi said sarcastically. "They are an extremely powerful race that were thousands of years more advanced than Starfleet at the time of the Enterpise NCC-1701."
<TAG Kirk>
Before Malachi could reply Ko'Vor walked in.
"Bloody knock, you d**n Klingon! What took you so long?!" Malachi exclaimed.

"1. You did not knock, 2. You called me Mr., and 3. we have engaged the Metrons."
Kirk had just about all he could take from the disrespectful Captain, "I will start knocking when you have earned the respect from me to knock on your door before I walk in. I wont knock until that day comes and I doubt it will be any time soon, the same goes for your rank. Once you start acting like a Captain I will treat you like a Captain."
Kirk took a second to calm down before he started talking again. It was clear to Kirk that Caspian had never been talk to like that before and he was clearly for the first time at a loss for words.
"Now, who are the Metrons?" Kirk asked in the most calm voice he could come up with.
Oh please Kirk, do I have to give you a History lesson? The Metrons were first encountered by a James. T. Kirk, I assume you've heard of him?" Malachi said sarcastically. "They are an extremely powerful race that were thousands of years more advanced than Starfleet at the time of the Enterprise NCC-1701."
Kirk felt his blood begin to boil as the smug voice of Caspian filled the office once more. Since being assigned to the Beta task force Kirk began looking into the known races out with in the Beta Quadrant. He had at this moment forgotten the Metrons due to his anger towards the man who occupied the office he now stood in.
"I remember who the Metrons are now." Kirk said.
Before Caspian could reply Commander Ko'Vor came through the door.

"Caspian to Ko'Vor and Kirk, report to my office immediately." He closed the comm and poured himself a mug of tea and began to pace his office, waiting...
'Ah, so he finally calls. I knew he’s need help with the docking procedures, HA' the klingon thought.
for a while he didn’t move. he decided to review a few reports of the station first and time his self to be an elegant 3 minutes late after the polite time of 3 minutes to arrive there in the first place. He strode on to the command deck. Some of the officers stood up, more out of intimidation than respect. Ko'Vor smiled 'At ease' he said. then looking towards Caspian's office he saw that Kirk and someone he had not yet met were there already. he presumed that the other person was the Darkhawk's first officer. Although he hadn't been summoned, so he couldn’t help wondering what Caspian’s reaction was. 'Lieutenant,' he said to a nearby officer. 'who is that in with the two captains?' a staff officer replied 'that is first officer Smith sir' 'thank you, continue with your work. Smith...Smith...' he thought to himself. 'Ah yes, he wanted an audience with me. well perhaps I can arrange one now then'
Ko'Vor walked into the office, again without knocking. 'Ko'vor Reporting as ordered' then also to show respect he nodded at both captain kirk and Smith.

Malachi looked at Ko'Vor with disdain. "Perhaps I no longer need you after all Commander. Dismissed."
<TAG Ko'vor>
"I said DISMISSED! Now get out of my office before I have Security throw you out."
Ko'Vor looked at Caspian, pure venom in his eyes and then muttered something in Klingon before turning and leaving.
"Now Mr. Kirk, will you dismiss you FO or do I have to do that as well?"
<TAG Kirk>
"Well, I don't want him here and I doubt he wants to hear what I have to say next."
<TAG Kirk>
"Dismiss him now Kirk. Or I will get you and your tin ship reassigned."

"Now Mr. Kirk, will you dismiss you FO or do I have to do that as well?"
"As my first officer he is entitled to hear anything and everything I wish him to hear." Kirk said being very blunt.
"Well, I don't want him here and I doubt he wants to hear what I have to say next."
"That is not your choice."
"Dismiss him now Kirk. Or I will get you and your tin ship reassigned."
"Captain you will do nothing. I have been hand selected by Starfleet Command to head up the task force in the Beta Quadrant. They orignally asked me to also command DSB, but I turned them down telling them I want to just command the fleet. If you do not stop your threats I will have you reassigned." Kirk said putting both hands on Caspian's desk as he leaned in closer to him.

Malachi looked at Ko'Vor with disdain. "Perhaps I no longer need you after all Commander. Dismissed."
'HOW DARE YOU' the klingon bellowed out. it was so loud that Caspian had to turn his head slightly 'First you call me here then you send me away, is this some sort of game to you? I am here and i will hear what you have to say!'
"I said DISMISSED! Now get out of my office before I have Security throw you out."
'Dont try and joke with me Starfleet. fine. By the way, Smith, you wanted to see me, if you some to my office I would be more than happy to talk to you.
leaving his fists clenched and outside he punched a wall, leaving a nice crack. 'well at least I’ve left my mark' he thought. Some officers again got up. 'Return To Your Stations# he said through gritted teeth.
a small sound penetrated his chest, his com badge was going. tapping it he heard a klingon on the other end. 'We need to talk Ko'Vor' guessing it was not for all to hear he responded 'contact me in my office, i will talk to you there' then leaving the command deck he shot one more nasty look towards the captains office.

"Excuse me?" Kirk said.
"Out. Get out of my Office."
"I am not going anywhere Caspian."
Malchi lunged forwards, his hands clenched in tight fists, Caspian dodged back, Malachi's fists narrowly missing the startled Officer's head.
"Captain Caspian!" Kirk exclaimed. "What..." However he did not get to finish.
The Starbase rocked violently sending many of Malachis belongings flying. Caspian sped out of his office and on to Command.
"Report!!" He ordered.
"We are under attack from an unknown source." Came the hurried response.
"Sheilds Up, Red Alert, Begin Command Lock down." Malachi ordered.
The lighting immediately changed and the sirens began to sound.
"Begin immediate Section B Lock down and transport civilian personnel to Bunkers immdiately!" Malachi ordered as Deep Space Beta rocked violently again.
"Sheilds are down to 86% Command and Section B have succesfully been Locked down."
"Target the source of the weapons fire and return fire, Full Quantum Torpedo spread!"
The Starbase rocked violently again.
"There is a hull breach on Deck 24A!" McLean called.
"Computer begin Emergency Protocol 4.4Alpha." Malachi called over the din.
=^= Protocol 4.4Alpha engaged =^= Came the Computrised response.
"Initiate Viewer!" Caspian yelled.
On the screen above eveyone, 45 shuttle like vessels could be seen entering into a defensive perimeter around the Starbase.
The auto-defensive drones.
The Starbase rocked violently once more and then there was silence only broken by the alarm of the Red Alert.
"Status Report." Malachi barked.

The Starbase rocked violently sending many of Malachis belongings flying. Caspian sped out of his office and on to Command.
Kirk ran out of the office right behind Caspian. Kirk went to the first open console he could find to check on the condition of the Darkhawk. He found the ship still docked to DSB, but stress due to the intensity of the impacts were causing stress to the docking clamps.
Kirk grabbed Commander Smith's arm, "We need to get to the Darkhawk! You head down there right now, I will summon the crew."
"Understood." Smith said before getting onto a near by turbo lift.
Looking back to the console infront of him he sent out the order for all Darkhawk crew members to imminently board the ship. Once he was done he turned to see that Lt. Commander McLean had gotten the order and he began to leave the Command Deck, an officer quickly took over his post.
Stepping onto the turbo lift with McLean Kirk ordered the lift to take them to Docking Port 4.
Minutes later the Darkhawk detached from the station and was at red alert.
"Report." Kirk said entering the bridge.
"Sir, Shields at 100%, all weapons report online and ready to go." Reported Ensign Anderson.
"Daya, triangulate fire with the tactical officer onboard the station. Take us out full impulse power."
"Aye sir."
The Darkhawk raced in between the two main hulls of the station and began scanning for any possible targets to fire upon. The ship shook as it was hit by an unknown target to their aft.
"Shields down to 89%." Daya reported.
"Bring us about ensign," Kirk said turning to Daya, "Daya, do whatever you can I need a lock on at least one target."

Malachi was confused. Why would they openly attack the Starbase and then stop as fast as they had started.
"Open a channel to the Darkhawk, audio only - no response setting."
"Channel open."
"Captain Kirk, we appear to have ceased the fire for now, I will keep the Starbase on Red Alert, it is down to you to decide what you want to do with the Darkhawk. Caspian out."
"WHAT the HELL is going on?" Came the voice of Ko'Vor from the entrance to Command. "Launch the DarkHawk and triangulate the position of the fire and respond to it with all weapons." He ordered. "I presume you would like my help, or at least would welcome it captain?" He asked.
"The Darkhawk was launched at least five minutes before you arrived Commander, and no I do not require your help. It appears that at least for now the fire has ceased." Malachi replied, his voice calm but a hint of anger still lay there.
"The battle is over?! Did they flee?!"
Malachi chuckled to himself, this was another great chance to get under the Klingon's skin.
"Well then what shall i do now sir? Oversee the repairs?"
"That will be unecessary Commander, we have Maintenance Crew for that. However you may want to shower, i heard that Klingons pespire a lot more when in an intense situation, it is most certainly true."
