Background: Katie was born in 2372 on board the USS Voyager to parents Commander John Anderson, and Lieutenant Kathy Anderson. Katie has two older brothers, Dave Anderson, 30, and Sean Anderson, 28. Both of her brothers were home with family when Voyager was lost to the Delta Quadrant. After returning to Earth Katie's parents grew tired of space travel and each took positions at Starfleet Academy on Earth to raise Katie. Katie was allowed to join the Academy at 16 when she passed a complex enterence exam.
